Employee Injured in Joiner Accident

On July 21, 2011, Employee #1 was fabricating shims from Dura Play material at the service and maintenance facility. Employee #1 was removing materials from a block, using a ten inch joiner planer. As the block advanced over the knives Employee #1 pushed down on the push stick, and caused the rear to lift off the material, which resulted in a kick back. The fingers of Employee #1's left hand were removed upon contacting the rotating knives.
