Employee Gets Left Hand Laceration

On November 16, 2010 Employee #1 was using a Milwaukee Magnetic Drill press to drill several circular holes in a 10-guage steel plate. After each hole was drilled Employee #1 would demagnify the magnet so they could move the drill press and drill at a new location. As Employee #1 finished drilling a hole and demagnetized the magnet, they started scooting the drill press over when his left hand came in contact with the teeth on the spinning drill bit. Employee #1 was wearing the required gloves but still suffered damage to the top of their left hands tendons and bone. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
