Investigation Summary
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on October 4, 2012, Employee #1 and Coworkers #1 and #2, of Lannen Construction Inc., were working at a single family residence. Employee #1 was performing a regularly assigned task of painting the window sills. He was working on a 6-foot A-frame ladder, painting a window sill, when he fell from the ladder and hit his head. He was transported to California Hospital, admitted, and treated for a head injury. The employer notified Cal/OSHA of this accident at 3:50 p.m. on October 5, 2012. At the time of the accident, Employee #1 had been working at the residence for 3 years, performing the duties of a painter. Employee #1's supervisor was not at the job site at the time of the accident. Employee #1 was working in close proximity to Coworker #1. The investigation, which included interviews of Employee #1, Coworker #1, and Coworker #2, concluded that there was no accident-related violation. As a result, Cal/OSHA did not issue an accident-related citation.
