Employee Is Injured in Fall from Window

At approximately 7:00 p.m. on December 9, 2011, Employee #1, an operations clerk with Weida Freight System, Inc., was unable to exit from his second-floor office. The exit door required a use of a key to unlock the door and he left his issued keys in his car. Employee #1 climbed out of the office window, intending to jump down to a warehouse section of the building. His hands slipped from the window frame and he fell approximately 20 ft and to the concrete warehouse floor. Employee #1 was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center for fractures to his back and both ankles. A citation was issued for the exit door that required a key to open.
