Investigation Summary
At approximately 9:14 a.m. on November 24, 2010, Employee #1, who was employed as an Office Engineer Technician by the Los Angeles City Department of Building and Safety, was attending a staff meeting on the ninth floor of a building in Los Angeles, CA. Employee #1 collapsed during the meeting, while seated in his chair. The paramedics arrived on scene and attempted CPR. Employee #1 was later pronounced dead by the paramedics at the scene. Apparently, Employee #1 suffered a heart attack. The Division became aware of the fatality from a report filed by the employer at approximately 9:30 a.m. on November 30, 2010.
