Investigation Summary
At approximately at 7:42 a.m., on March 13, 2012, an employee working for George Fischer Harvel Llc, as an operator was performing a regularly assigned task of operating a PVC pipe extrusion line to produce quality PVC pipe. A four inch PVC pipe 20 feet long jammed against a bell dump. It became bound and bowed upwards. The employee kicked the pipe to unjam it; it unjammed sprung back fracturing the employee's left leg. The injured employee was transported for to Kern Medical Center where he was hospitalized for three days due to surgery.
