Employee Suffers Burns from Mixer

At approximately 8:06 p.m. on Decamber 1, 2011 Employee #1 was seriously injured with burns. Employee #1 and a coworker, were working with a 300 gal mixer which contained a silicon base. A deflagration occurred inside of the mixer and Employee #1 was seriously injured with burns to his waist and area below. Air entered into the mixer with high temperature and possible static from the running blades causing deflagration. The top of the mixer blew open from the side where Employee #1 was standing. Employee #1 was hospitalization for 12 days.
