Event: 07/28/2010
Worker in Tree Is Killed When Tree Falls

An employee had climbed a large hickory tree to start cutting the top of the tree. He had cut one section off the top of the tree and was in the process of roping down a second section, when the trunk of the tree he was working from snapped in half. This caused the employee and the entire top of the tree to fall approximately sixty-five feet to the ground. The worker was killed.
