Employee Is Injured in Fall from Roof

At 1:00 p.m. on October 20, 2010, Employee #1 was seriously injured at the employers' job- site in Galt, California, when he fell approximately 11 feet from the roof of a single story home. The employer is a milking equipment sales and service business. Employee #1 was helping reroof the residence located adjacent to the business when he fell, breaking his left hip, leg and ankle. Employee #1 was pulling up old dry rot lumber from around the fireplace exhaust pipe and replacing it. Employee #1 walked to edge of roof to get down when he stepped on new, loose plywood, causing him to slip and fall off the roof. Employee #1 suffered a fractured hip, leg and ankle, and was hospitalized.
