Employee Struck in Head by Banding

At approximately 12:40 a.m. on May 12, 2010, Employee #1, was working alone, and approached a coil, located on the coil car of the Combination Reversing-Rolling. Employee #1 pushed a band under the coil, between the coil and the coil car, and then proceeded to the south side of the coil to pull the band through and over the top of the coil. At this point, the coil sprang open, striking Employee #1 in the head, rendering him unconscious. An ambulance arrived and transported the employee to the Hospital, where Employee #1 died.
