Employee Amputates Finger on Chop Saw

On July 8, 2011, Employee #1, a carpenter, was cutting a piece of siding when his left index finger came into contact with the blade of a Dewalt chop saw. He suffered a partial amputation to his finger, and he transported himself to a nearby medical facility. Employee #1 underwent surgery to reattach the portion of his finger that was lost, but the reattachment was unsuccessful. He was hospitalized for his treatment.
