Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 202508867
Event: 08/29/2011
Employee Is Diagnosed with Non-Work Related Condition

On August 29, 2011, Employee #1, a car salesperson, was speaking with a customer outside in the car lot. The temperature on that day was 88 degrees Fahrenheit. Employee #1 collapsed in the lot and was taken by ambulance to a nearby medical facility where he was hospitalized for more than 24 hours. He was diagnosed with a nonwork-related medical condition. It does not appear that heat or failure on the part of the employer to implement heat illness prevention measures were factors causing Employee #1's illness.
