Investigation Summary
On November 9, 2010, Employee #1 was working for his employer, a gutter installation and repair company. Employee #1 was removing damaged gutters from a one-story commercial building. Employee #1 was standing on the roof of the building and he was not using fall protection. The roof had just been replaced due to storm damage. Employee #1 kicked the gutters to remove it from the roof, and he lost his balance. Employee #1 fell approximately 14 feet and hit his head against a concrete pillar below. The impact of his head against the pillar killed Employee #1.
