Investigation Summary
At approximately 8:45 a.m. on June 28, 2010, Employee #1 was ripping a 3 ft long piece of a 2-ft by 4-ft piece of wood. The wood was being used in the roof framing of an existing home. While ripping, by hand, the skillsaw that the employee was using kicked back and the skillsaw came in contact with his right thumb. Employee 1's right thumb was partially amputated and he was hospitalized.
