Employee Dies after Electric Shock and Fall from Scaffold

At approximately 11:00 a.m. on November 2, 2009, Employee #1 was working from a ladder jack scaffold. He was installing drip edge on a house. When he raised a 10 ft piece of aluminum drip edge to install it, it contacted a 19,900 volt overhead power line located approximately 4 ft above the roof peak. Employee #1 was shocked. He fell from the scaffold to the ground 20 ft below. Employee #1 suffered lacerations, electrical burns and internal injuries. He died at the hospital while being treated.
