Employee Falls Off Roof and Fractures Ankle

At approximately 1:00 p.m. on May 23, 2011, Employee #1, a helper, was tiling a roof. The elevation from the edge of the roof to a concrete walkway was approximately 7.5 ft. As he descended the roof towards a ladder, he lost his footing and slid off the roof. Employee #1 fell and struck the concrete walkway, fracturing his ankle. He was taken to a medical center, where he underwent surgical procedures and was then hospitalized for postoperative care.
