Employee Is Injured in Fall from Roof

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on April 26, 2011, Employee #1, a roofer working with a roofing contractor, was performing an inspection of some seams in a roof that was 11 feet above ground level. Employee #1 was using a probe to ensure that the seams were sealed. Employee #1 moved from a higher level to a lower level of the roof, and he lost his balance and fell down to an asphalt floor. Employee #1 suffered a compound fracture to his left ankle, and underwent two surgeries to treat the fracture. The accident was reported to the Division on April 26, 2011, and an investigation was initiated on April 29, 2011.
