Two Employee's Legs Are Fractured by Backing Trailer

At approximately 12:40 p.m. on July 22, 2009, Employees #1 and 2 were maintenance workers for the Tatitlek Corporation, located at a Marine Corps base. They were loading a guard shack on a flatbed trailer. A coworker was backing the trailer with a pickup truck. His foot slipped off the brake pedal and onto the gas pedal. Employees #1 and 2 had their legs fractured when they were struck by the trailer and pinned against a 4-ft high berm. Employee #1 was hospitalized for nine days at Loma Linda University for treatment of two fractured legs. Employee #2 was hospitalized for two months at Loma Linda University Hospital for treatment of two fractured legs.
