Employee Is Struck by Forklift and Fractures Leg

At approximately 12:35 p.m. on May 6, 2009, Employee #1 was harvesting lemons and placing them into a carry-on pouch. He was emptying the pouch into large containers that would be picked up by a forklift but could not move out of the way fast enough when the forklift came. The employee was struck by the forklift and suffered a fracture to his right leg. Employee #1 was not hospitalized. The investigation revealed that the forklift operator could not see in front of him.
