Employee Dies after Being Crushed by Gate

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on August 11, Employee #1, was leaving the worksite with a company truck to deliver merchandise to a customer. While exiting the facility, Employee #1 positioned himself at the exterior sidewalk area and engaged in the operation of attempting to manually move an approximate 20 ft long by eight foot high metal horizontal sliding gate. The gate fell and struck employee #1 against the cement driveway causing severe trauma. Employee #1 expired on site and was taken to the local Coroner's Office.
