Employee falls from roof

On May 22, 2010, Employee #1 a roofer of Modern Roofing Inc., was working at the rear end of a single story dwelling attempting to remove the old metal /wood roofing materials when he lost his footing and fell over the roof. Employee #1 was standing on the roof top attempting to remove nails from the facial board when the materials shifted as he fell over the leading edge to the ground. The distance from the bottom of the eaves to the ground was 8.5 feet. Employee #1 was also determined to have been working on the roof top without any forms of fall protection at the time of the accident. He was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital by the paramedic where he was admitted for treatment. Employee #1 was hospitalized due to his fractures.
