Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 202489084
Event: 06/04/2009
Employee Pinned Between Two Trucks

On June 4, 2009, Employee #1, was preparing U-Haul trucks for rental. Employee #1 had parked a 17-foot truck between two other parked rental trucks, which were all lined up in a row with their left (driver) sides facing the entrance driveway to the facility. As Employee #1 exited the parked truck, a customer operating a 17-foot truck entered the lot to return the vehicle. According to the police report, as the customer entered the lot he experienced a seizure which caused him to press his foot on the accelerator. The customer's truck slammed into the first truck in the row and pushed it into the second truck, pinning Employee #1 between the two trucks. Employee #1 suffered serious (not specified) fracture injuries in the incident.
