Investigation Summary
On May 26, 2009, an employee was on a crew that was tearing off the existing roof on a single story home. For some unknown reason, the employee lost his balance and fell toward the edge of the roof that was approximately 12 feet above a planting area next to the structure. There were no witnesses to the initiation of the accident but the homeowner stated she saw the employee hit the ground, butt first, landing in the planting area. According to the witness, as soon as the employee hit the dirt, he fell toward the house and struck his head on the wall. The employee was taken to Sutter Roseville hospital, where he died.
