Employee Is Injured in Fall While Setting Steel Tubes

On March 30, 2009, Employee #1, a steel erector was setting steel tubes at a construction site. The steel tubes measured 12 feet by 12 feet by 30 feet. As Employee #1 was setting the tubes, he fell 55 feet. Employee #1 was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was hospitalized and treated for a puncture injury to his chest. The accident investigation determined that Employee #1 was wearing fall protection, which included a body harness with lanyard, and a wire rope cable to secure around the columns.
