Employee Drowns in Diked Area

On January 23, 2010, Employee #1 was collecting water samples from a diked containment area at a petrochemical facility. The containment area had 11 in. of rain water in it. Employee #1 was found dead, with the upper half of his body in the containment area. Employee #1 had a history of heart arrhythmia which may have caused him to fall into the water, where he drowned.
