Worker Amputates Toe When Portable Saw Kicks Back

An employee had been sent by a temporary employment agency to work for a masonry contractor. He was trying to repair a section of a trailer by replacing a wooden piece. He was cutting a small wooden piece without relying on a sawhorse or proper support, when the blade of the portable circular saw he was using, such as a Skilsaw, kicked back, cutting his foot and severing a toe. He was hospitalized.
