Employee Cutting Grass Is Killed When Struck by Automobile

At approximately 12:00 noon on June 3, 2009, Employee #1 was working with a landscaping crew at the I-26 west welcome center. Employee #1 was operating a tractor, cutting grass approximately 30 ft from the highway. A Lexus automobile ran off the road and struck the tractor and Employee #1, causing multiple injuries. He was conscious but died later at the hospital from his injuries.
