Employee's Fingers Are Amputated by Backing Roll Pulley

On March 6, 2009, Employee #1 was attempting to clean or remove a scab off a coating apparatus of a backing roll. He was using a piece of aluminum conduit with abrasive cloth attached to the end. Employee #1 lost control of the tool. The tool was pulled into the nip of the pulley and a rope. The employee's left fingers were amputated.
