Employee Fractures Knee in Collision

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on January 28, 2009, Employee #1, a mechanic, was in a GEM motor car traveling from one building to another. While approaching a turn in a parking lot, he noticed that the car's brakes were not functioning properly. Realizing that he could not negotiate the turn safely, he continued in a straight direction. To stop the car, Employee #1 struck the cement foundation of a light pole. He was hospitalized at El Camino Hospital for a fractured right knee.
