Investigation Summary
On January 13, 2011, Employee #1, a 46-year-old carpenter, was working alone installing crown molding using a Paslode finish nail gun. Employee #1 climbed a 6 foot ladder while carrying the nail gun and accidentally depressed the trigger of the gun as he ascended the ladder. He raised his right leg into the nose of the gun, which depressed the safety switch and shot a 2 inch finish nail into his right leg, just above the knee.
