Employee Is Injured When Pinned Between Wall and Compressor

About 8:00 a.m. on March 15, 2011, Employee #1, of San Francisco Department Public Works, Bureau of Street and Sewage Repair, drove into a dead-end. Unable to turn, he unhitched the portable air compressor (Unit Number: 450931) trailer, which rolled. Employee #1 tried stopping the compressor but was pinned against the wall, suffering fractured ribs, fractured left leg, coccyx, fractured pelvis, lacerated liver, and internal injuries and was hospitalized for 16 days. Further investigation revealed that there were no chocks on the trailer.
