Employee Suffers Multiple Injuries in Fall from Roof

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on September 9, 2010, Employee #1, a roofer, was working on a 10,000 square foot tar and gravel roof, with a slope of approximately 2 to 12, approximately 13.5 to 16.5 ft high. He was placing gravel on the northwest edge of the roof along a 6-in. wide metal box gutter. He slipped and fell approximately 16.3 ft to the concrete sidewalk. He suffered laceration to his head and multiple fractures to his pelvis. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
