Investigation Summary
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on November 19, 2009, Employee #1, a day laborer for a landscaping service, was trimming a tree from a 6-foot Gorilla step ladder, using a bypass lopper (Corona 24-inch wood handle lopper or a telescopic 32-inch aluminum handle of unknown brand). Employee #1 fell from the ladder and onto the sidewalk. His neck hit the edge of the metallic "No Stopping" sign, 40 inches above the ground, causing a laceration to the right side of his neck. He was transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics and stayed overnight.
