Investigation Summary
At approximately 10:00 a.m. on November 10, 2009, Employee #1, with the Paul Ecke Ranch, was applying new plastic sheeting material over the existing metal structure of a greenhouse roof. He accessed the elevated location by using a 2 in. by 8 in. by 12 ft board placed across metal ceiling beams below the roof. When one end of the wooden board slipped off a beam, Employee #1 fell approximately 9 ft to the ground. He was hospitalized at Scripps Hospital for a fractured back.
