Employee Is Injured When Nail from Nail Gun Struck's Him

At approximately 9:20 a.m. on September 2, 2011, Employee # 1 was working for Coast Framing Inc., performing framing duties in the stairway of the 3-story condo unit. Employee # 1 was nailing stringers with a Hitachi Nail Gun when a three inch nail shot from the gun and hit him in his face under the right eye. Employee # 1 was wearing the correct PPE at the time of the accident. Employee # 1 was transported to UCI Medical Center, where he was hospitalized and treated for his injuries. The accident was reported to Cal/OSHA West Covina District Office on September 2, 2011. Employee #1 had been working for the employer for 16 years.
