Investigation Summary
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on August 11, 2011, Employee #1, a technician, was checking the tension of a serpentine belt under the hood of a parked vehicle in Bay #2. A coworker walked by the driver side of the vehicle and started the engine without warning Employee #1. Employee #1's left middle finger got caught in the pinch point of the belt and pulley of the alternator, causing a partial amputation of his finger. He was hospitalized for his injury.
