Employee Is Burned When Hot Tea Spills on Arm and Chest

At approximately 2:35 p.m. on August 26, 2008, an employee was brewing tea in a Gemini Coffee Brewer. She removed the satellite from the brew machine and was placing it on top of the hood of the French fry holding stand. The stand was 65-in. in height. The employee was 62 inches in height. When the employee placed the satellite onto the top of the hood, she lost her grip and the satellite tipped forward spilling the hot tea onto her upper right arm and chest area. The employer is a fast food restaurant. A supervisor and a coworker were assisting customers, when the accident occurred. The employee was hospitalized and treated for burns on arm and chest.
