Employee Contacts Table Saw Blade, Lacerates Fingers

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on December 1, 2010, Employee #1 was operating a table saw with a hood guard. With his right hand, he used a push stick to move a work piece into the blade of the table saw. As the piece moved towards the saw blade, his left hand contacted the blade. The blade lacerated multiple fingers. He was transported to a medical center. At the medical center, Employee #1 underwent surgical procedures and postoperative care and was then hospitalized for five days.
