Employee gets fingertip amputation

At approximately 9:30 am, on August 13, 2009, Employee #1 of Lucas Demolition, Inc., was asked by Employee #2, his co- worker, to help unload a debris cart inside the steel debris box. While Employee #1 and Employee #2 were about to lift the cart, the cart slipped and pinched the right thumb of the Employee #1 in between the handle of the cart and the steel lining of the steel box. The cart was located inside the rear corner of the debris box. Employee #1 sustained partial amputation on his right thumb.
