Employee Is Injured in Fall from Ladder

At approximately 3:35 p.m. on August 27, 2008, an employee was repairing a security camera located on the rooftop of secondary blower building. In order to get to area where the camera was located, the employee needed to climb up a fixed ladder measured at 8 ft 10 in. As the employee was descending the fixed ladder, he forgot about the last two rungs and fell to the ground. The employee was working by himself and called for assistance by radio. The employee sustained a fractured tibia and fibula to his left leg. Emergency assistance was called, and the employee was transported to El Camino hospital, where surgery was performed to insert eight pins and screws to his leg.
