Investigation Summary
On June 20, 2010, an employee was picking strawberries from 7:30 a.m. till the 1:00 p.m., when she fell to ground due to heat exhaustion. The employee felt good that morning and had taken her break when she ate her lunch. All of a sudden she felt ill and fell to ground possibly fainted. Coworkers ran to give her assistance and advised the employee to stay still. The supervisor arrived within 4-5 minutes and the employee advised him that she just felt tired. The employee was transported to hospital where it was confirmed that the accident was due to heat exhaustion. The employee was treated for heat exhaustion and released.
