Employee Dies of Hanta Virus Pulmonary Syndrome

On August 15, 2008, an employee was working as a police officer and the City's Fire Arms instructor. He had exposure Hanta Virus at a remote small red shed, 6-ft wide by 6-ft long by 8-ft high, where he collected and stored range targets. This shed had evidence of mice nests and fecal contamination. The employee died of Hanta Virus Pulmonary Syndrome.
