Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 202488243
Event: 10/03/2008
Employee Is Injured in Fall from Ladder

On October 3, 2008, an employee, a seasonal worker, was trying to access a sampling platform on top of the office building via a fixed metal ladder. As the employee reached the top rung of the ladder, the employee grabbed one of the vertical posts of the sampling platform. When the employee reached for the second vertical post to access the platform, the employee's hand slipped and the employee fell approximately 9 feet to the ground. Emergency personnel from the area responded, and the employee was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Medical Center in Roseville, where the employee underwent surgery to address fractures to the employee's right wrist and right eye. The employee was released from the hospital on October 5, 2008.
