Employee Falls from Ladder, Sustains Facial Injuries

Employee #1 was working for the company for approximately a month to remodel a single-family residence by removing old roofing materials and installing new. On the day of the accident, Employee #1 was working on the roof laying shingles. There was a carpenter's bracket scaffold set up on the northeast side of the house with a 24-ft fiberglass extension ladder leaning next to it. Employee #1 was exiting the ladder to help a coworker. Employee#1 fell from the ladder approximately 4.5 ft to compacted soil. Employee #1 sustained facial injuries. Employee #1 was transported to the hospital where he was hospitalized for approximately five hours and was released. Employee #1 returned to work in approximately seven days.
