Investigation Summary
On October 26, 2007, Employee #1 was crushed while conducting repairs on the steering feedback cylinder of a John Deere 8760 Farm Tractor. Employee #1 had placed his body between the fuel tank and the rear tires when the hydraulics engaged. The opening he was working in began to close off, ultimately crushing his upper torso. Employee #1 was working alone at the construction storage yard and there were no witnesses to the event. Employee #1 was rushed to the Yuma Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
