Employee Is Killed When Forklift Overturns

On January 14, 2009, Employee #1, a self employed contractor, was driving a rough terrain forklift. The boom was extended high over the cab and there was a steel beam suspended by a choker from the forks. The lift hit a small clump of dirt, the boom tilted, and the load swung overturning the forklift. Employee #1 reportedly tried to jump out of the way, but he was killed when he was crushed by the forklift.
