Employee Amputates Finger in Hot Stamp Press Machine

Employee #1 was operating a Kensol Franklin hot stamp press machine, Model Number EK255, Serial Number T8115, when she noticed that the prints being produced were poor quality. She asked a coworker to assist her in re-setting the machine. Employee #1 began to adjust the weight located at the top of the machine, when the coworker energized the machine. Employee #1 was still holding the adjustable weight when the machine was energized and her left ring finger was pinched between the weight and the fixed base of the machine. Her finger was amputated and she was hospitalized for three days.
