Investigation Summary
On January 10, 2010, Employee #1, of Rosal Auto Recyclers Inc, was pulling out parts from a car that was parked in the employer's yard. The car was lifted at the right front wheel by a scissor jack and one tire rim laying flat on the ground below the right front disc brake. Employee #1 crawled underneath the car and started pulling out the rack and pinion parts. Employee #1 accidentally hit the scissor jack with the rack and pinion, causing the car to collapse and pin him down. Employee #1 sustained serious injuries to the chest and head and was brought to the Sutter Delta hospital for treatment.
