Employee injured when shot in eye by nail gun

On August 15, 2007, Employee #1, a laborer with Shane Woods Johnson Construction, was assisting a coworker on the second floor of a new home under construction in Discovery Bay, CA. The coworker was standing on a stepladder and was using an Hitachi nailer, model NR83A, when the nailer discharged unexpectedly. Employee #1 was struck in the left eye by a nail, sustaining injuries for which he was hospitalized.
