Employee Is Burned by Discharge of Hot Material

On July 6, 2007, an employee was working in kiln area assisting in the installation of a chute and bolting it to a new tipping valve. The air cannon discharged, blowing hot material through openings around the valve. The employee received second-and-third-degree burns on his forearms for which he was hospitalized.
